So long and thanks for all the fish
After nearly nine years at Apple, today was my last day.
Whether it was building SwiftUI, or working with developers to adopt our frameworks and designs, I loved helping people create apps for Apple’s platforms and the folks who use them. As an evangelist it was wonderful to meet so many people in the developer community. Maybe I’ll see you again at a conference someday.
What’s next for me? Call it a trial retirement. I intend to stay retired, but I’m a restless soul, so who knows. If retirement doesn’t stick, then I guess I’ll call this a sabbatical. My wife and I are moving back to the Seattle area where we’re designing and building a new home.
I need a break from tech and plan to rekindle some old hobbies. I’m looking forward to getting back into photography and woodworking. The house project will provide an interesting subject for both. Watch this space for more on that over the coming months.
